Talks I Give
Biography
Kat Frey is the owner and founder of Oxygen Coaching Group, speaker, author, & coach. What started as Oxygen Equestrian, her brainchild of helping business professionals learn more about their body language and relationship styles through hands-on work with horses has turned into an elite training and coaching company where her experience in the intermodal transportation industry (BNSF & UP Railroad), industrial manufacturing industry, and wireless communication industry (Verizon Wireless) allows owners, managers, and business professions to learn more about how their actions affect every part of their results and how they contribute to their lives.
OCG has built programs such as the Tie Game Theory, Conflict to Growth, and an online calculator to determine the optimal rate of pay, B.L.I.S.S. ©™. She is an experienced sales leader with proven results in growing margins and performance within teams. With a coaching mentality and consulting foundation, she has the ability to assess a team, situation, or sale with a unique approach and help move it to the desired outcome. Her experience goes from CEOs throughout an entire team, solopreneurs to enterprise organizations.
Brought up in a family-owned business, the best lesson Kat learned was to stretch and risk which led to her being co-owner of multiple businesses before developing OCG. This diverse background helps business owners and their teams see outside the box when looking to take their business and personal relationships to the next level. She is a Lean 6 Sigma Green Belt. She has post-secondary education in engineering, human resources, manufacturing engineering, and project management along with CAD/CAM.
Passion
Kat is an advocate of the American Lung Association, a frequent volunteer with the young people in her community through programs like Sources of Strength, Girls on the Run, Just Keep Living Foundation, FLEX FACTOR (funded by the US Department of Defense for STEM), and High School Swim and Dive at her Alma Mater.
Her passions include raising her two teenage children, reining horses, rescuing Great Danes, gardening, and running.
Origin Story
Oxygen Coaching Group gives me the opportunity to see the challenges of day-to-day business in real-time. It keeps our curriculum real and my talks RELEVANT and REAL! While I typically speak on business, leadership, and women in business, having a company like Oxygen Coaching gives me a perspective that allows me to take those topics and be relevant to YOUR audience, YOUR industry, and YOUR challenges. My audiences leave with tools, tricks, and motivation to use right away, no matter what the topic because it's the world we live in, not yesterday's talk that they heard from somewhere else! We are trainers with C- Suite and operations backgrounds. We aren't another HR trainer with theories and ideas, we are in the trenches trainers living in a world as OUR OWN BEST STUDENTS.
Best Story
My dad used to jingle his change in his pocket and ask my small children "will you trade what you have in your hand (tooth fairy money or change from paying the bill at a restaurant) for what you hear in Papa's pocket?" After great consideration, my children would either RISK or WAIT. Learning from a person who they greatly admired and trusted, my children learned one of the best life lessons. RISK. How and when? That's it's ok to lose. That's ok to walk away. How do you risk?

“You don’t know the power of a deep breath until you realize you’ve been holding it.” When was the last time you realized you were holding your breath and didn’t mean to be doing so? Was it the people around you causing you to hold your breath? Was it a tense situation? Was it the place? Was it YOU?
What did it feel like after you finally got the air you needed? Did you see things differently? More clearly? Were you left gasping for air because you waited TOO long? Were you able to continue on after taking a moment to recenter?
I wrote in my first compilation about this life skill and relationships but what if this is your business behaving like this? What if your business can’t breathe? It’s lacking fresh air? It can’t expand and contract even a little? It’s lost its agility? Is it gasping for air or does it need a moment to recenter and move on? Is it YOU?
